Indications

Breast ultrasound is a sensitive test to examine and characterize breast lumps and lumpiness in general.

Ultrasound is the first test for young women, pregnant women, and women who are breast-feeding. For the patient of age above 40 years, the Sonomammogram is used in combination with x ray mammogram to increase the usefulness of the test.
